Our newsletters will be in children’s bags today but if they don’t make it home, you can read the full interactive version of the newsletter here. Below is the welcome message from Simon, the principal.

Welcome to Carlow Educate Together!

It gives me great please to welcome you all back to Carlow Educate Together for our 2012-13 year. We have some lovely new families who have joined us throughout the school and I hope you feel very welcome with us. We also welcome some new staff to the school. Vicky has joined us from Bracken Educate Together after spending 4 years there. Derek has joined our Special Class after a number of years working in special schools. Angela has joined us to job share with Eimear. She has taught in Esker Educate Together and has also relocated to the area. We also welcome back Erin on a permanent contract. We were sad to say goodbye to both Emer D and Claire who have both relocated home to Cork and Limerick respectively and we wish them the very best in their futures.

This year, our fifth year, promises to be an exciting year with lots of fun activities. Already in the pipeline are some great after school clubs including Arts and Crafts, Guitar and Typing Ninjas! We’re also entering ourselves into the schools’ GAA football leagues for the first time. Our Speech and Drama teacher, Jade, is unable to schedule time for us this year so we’re looking for a replacement and hopefully we should have one in the coming weeks. For Catholic families, our sacrament preparation classes will begin at the end of the month.
Look out for some other initiatives coming up such as a Cross Border Choir project, Breakfast Together and lots more. Our web site and Facebook page are always being updated with news so keep an eye out there.
We hope you enjoy reading our monthly newsletter. All newsletters are available online in case you miss them going home in the bag in the publications section of our school web site. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to call in and we’ll do our best to help you out!
Until next month, keep happy, safe and learning!
Simon
