Active Week 2021

Active Week was a great success this year! We want to say a huge thank you to:

Carlow Town Hurling and Camogie Club with their Little Puckers instructors who helped our Infants and First Class

-Clíona and Rory from Carlow LTC who came in to do some tennis games and activities

-Sinéad Ronan Fitness for playing brilliant team games

-Susanne for creating memorable orienteering challenges around the school

Active Week 2022

We’ve had a great week for Active week 2022, with so many local people and clubs coming and getting involved.
 
-Pat Power who works with Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership was in doing athletics.
 
-Seamus from Carlow GAA Coaching and Games and Carlow GAA was in doing some GAA games and skills.
 
-Sinéad Ronan did some fun fitness games and activities.
 
-Holly a local personal trainer who works out of Silverbacks Gym did some strength and fitness activities with the our classes.
 
-Gavin from Carlow Rugby Club and Leinster Rugby was back in again with us to work with our senior classes.
 
-Carlow Gymnastics Club helped us impove on our gymnastic skills.
 
-Garry Coady from the FAI showed the junior classes some super soccer skills.
 
– Anita Juste from St. Michael’s Boxing Club and James from Raging Bull Boxing Club Carlow gave us a fantastic introduction on the basics of boxing.  
 
-Colm Kavanagh, lead academy sports scientist at Birmingham City Football Club put the senior classes through their paces with some super soccer skills.
 
-Two of our own teachers, Susie and Susanne also organised a brilliant yoga and orienteering session.

Active Week 2023

22nd – 25th May

The sun was shinning for our 2023 Active Week. It was a fantastic week with so many local people and clubs coming and getting involved.
 
-The week started with our first Bike Bus to school thanks to Mark and the County Carlow Sports Partnership who helped enabled this to happen.
 
-Pat Power who works with Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership was in doing athletics.
 
-5th class also made a very special trip to Paul in Primal Performance and Fitness
 
-Pio from O’Hanrahan’s Gaa Club GAA Club was in doing some GAA games and skills.
 
-Gavin from Carlow Rugby Club and Leinster Rugby was back in again with us to work with our senior classes.
 
-Shannon and Eilís from Carlow Acrobatic Gymnastics Club helped us improve on our gymnastic skills.
 
-Garry Coady from the FAI showed the junior classes some super soccer skills.
 
-Brian from the Carlow Tennis Club  did some fun tennis games and activities.
 
-Ciara from the Dept of Health and Sports Science in SETU Carlow brought in some graduated and taught our senior classes about weightlifting and fitness.
 
-Ciara also works with Curragh Naas Orienteering Club – CNOC so she came back on Thursday to teach them some orienteering and map reading skills.
 
-Aoibheann a former dance teacher encouraged our junior classes to get their dancing shoes on 
 
-Colm Kavanagh, lead academy sports scientist at Birmingham City Football Club put the senior classes through their paces with some super soccer skills.
 
-Lesley from Fusion fitness helped us dance into the weekend with Zumba!
 
-Two of our own teachers, Teresa and Susanne also organised some brilliant games and an orienteering session.
