In 5th and 6th we learned about the ancient Chinese story behind the willow pattern design. We created story plates in English in small groups and presented a new version of the story to the class to develop our narrative writing. In visual arts we created our version of the willow pattern. All we needed were paper plates and blue paint The children really enjoyed painting these and they did a great job.
