We had some new arrivals to Senior Infants last week.Rhonda kindly brought in some frogspawn from her own pond. They have only been here for a few days and already some of them have hatched. Like all expectant parents we have been busy reading books on how to care for our new babies. We now know what to expect as they grow and develop.
As the common Irish Frog is a protected species in Ireland we had to get a special licence from the government before we could collect them. We are allowed to keep them until they become little frogs or froglets and then we have to return them to their home.
