Carlow Educate Together unveil ambitious plans

November 2nd 2007

Attempts to get Carlow’s first multi-denominational school up and running are underway.

A band of parents from Carlow Educate Together want to open a new primary school in the county for September 2008.

The coming months are crucial to the school’s development and on Saturday November 10, the group is having their pre enrolment meeting in the Seven Oaks from 10am to 1pm.

The meeting will give parents interested in enrolling their children in the school an opportunity to meet like-minded parents and teachers.

At the meeting, families and interested community members are invited to a presentation on Educate Together and to ask questions of the Educate Together CEO Paul Rowe.

There will also be a principal from an Educate Together school present to answer any questions regarding the curriculum, day to day running of the school and ethos of the school. After the meeting, parents and guardians may put their children’s names down for a place.

Educate Together schools are multi-denominational and accept children from all religious, cultural and social backgrounds. Its ethos is to respect and celebrate diversity. Places are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

To highlight this fact, Educate Together are manning information stands on Saturday, November 3, outside Superquinn and Dunne’s Stores from 11am to 5pm, on Sunday, November 4 at the Arboretum from 11am to 5pm and on Tuesday, November 6, outside Carlow Post Office from 9am to 5pm.
