This week in Carlow Educate Together the children have been busy practicing the ancient Japanese art of Origami. In Japanese Ori means “Paper” and Kami means “Folding” – Paper Folding. They had to listen very carefully and follow instructions to make all kinds of things, birds, fish, penguins, crabs and even a whale. My favourite is Mikie’s smiley Giraffe! If you want to try Origami for yourself some of the children in 2nd and 3rd class will be making instruction books which you can borrow from their class library.
