Welcome to our first newsletter of 2011.  I want to wish you all a very happy new year.  January has already been a busy month and, thankfully, we haven’t seen any snow as yet!  We received some very exciting news this week.  Our school has been sanctioned by the Department of Education to get a new school building.  We don’t know how big it will be or even where in town it’s going to go, but as soon as we hear anything, we’ll let you know.

As you are aware, we love to have parents in our school and I know some of you join us for coffee every Friday morning.  If you don’t already come for coffee and a chat, we’d love to see you some time.  It’s a great way to meet other parents in the school.  Speaking of parents in the school, we’re setting up our Parents’ Association.  Debbie Byrne, your representative on the Board of Management, is leading a workshop on Friday 28th January to get things started.  Anyone who is interested in parental involvement should go along.  There’s no-one going to pressurise you into anything.  From the meeting, anyone who is interested in being part of the Parent Council will meet again.

I hope your 2011 has already got off to a good start and, as always, feel free to drop in if you need anything.
