Throughout November, 2nd and 3rd class were investigating light in Science. We used torches to make shadows. Shadows happen when something blocks the light. We had fun learning how to make them bigger and smaller. We also learned about the words transparent (see through) and opaque (not see through) and used our torches again to test items out.
We also learned about electricity in the home and how to be safe when using electrical items. We made our own electricity by rubbing balloons against our clothes. This makes static electricity. The static electricity made the balloons stick to our clothes, made our hair stand up, picked up pieces of tissue off the desk and even made water running from the tap bend. Everyone was amazed and there were giggles all around! 🙂
